Merger Announcements


 We are pleased to inform you that as of May 1, 2021, FNB Bank joined the BancorpSouth Bank family. You can expect the same level of personal service that you have always received from the bankers you already know and trust. Plus, you will also have access to an enhanced range of products and services at more than 300 branch locations. We know you will have many questions and we will do our best to answer those questions and keep you informed. 

  • Please continue to use your existing checks, deposit slips and debit cards at this time. Your FNB Bank accounts and services, including automatic deposits and payments, will continue until you are notified of a change. 
  • Please pay close attention to your mail over the next 60 days. You will receive specific information regarding your accounts and services along with the dates that we will transition to the BancorpSouth system. 

Your deposit accounts will continue to be insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). The standard FDIC insurance amount is $250,000 per depositor, per insured bank, for each category of legal ownership, such as a joint account or a single account. For customers who currently have deposit accounts at both banks, those accounts will be separately FDIC-insured for at least six months after the merger. However, if the combined balance of your accounts is greater than $250,000, your accounts would not be insured for the overage after the initial six-month period. The FDIC insures certificates of deposit until maturity. 

We are also pleased to share with you that, after the completion of this merger, Steve Rownd will serve as the Division President for BancorpSouth’s new Tennessee Valley Division, incorporating the FNB Bank and BancorpSouth branches in Marshall, Jackson, and Dekalb counties in Alabama and in the Chattanooga metropolitan area. Steve looks forward to continuing to serve our customers, communities, and teammates in this new capacity.
